Thankful thankful post from the depth of my heart. ( A small shout out to my baby, I can't wait to see you again). I LOVE YOU.
Dear God,
I woke up this morning with a sweet smile on my face. You have been faithful in my life, even though sometimes we take you for granted. You have been good to us all. I am alive and healthy, you have kept us all to this time of the year, we have all been eating. You have provided shelter for your children. I thank you, thank you, thank you for everything. I knew this post had to be dedicated to you. I am thankful for everything.
A small pidgin song I made up, I love singing this song to myself to remind me to be thankful:
If you think na you no get money, somebody out there no get single penny
If you think na you de sick, somebody out there don sick pass you
If you think your situation de terrible... you never even see terrible yet
If you think na you no get shoe... somebody out there never even walk
If you think na you de cry, you never know what cry sef mean
In this life of yours o, stop complaining and be thankful
God has done you well, he will do what he says he will do
Relax, enjoy your life
Take what you have and make it yours
Stop complaining , stop complaining
Be thankful, thankful, thankful for everything.
I am outta of here for today, will be back to read all your blogs later in the day. You have a good day. Guess what! The baby is coming back tomorrow for a week. He is going to be back for thanksgiving break from pharmacy school. I am so excited right now. I need to catch up with everything knowing am off next week for thanksgiving break. I am really excited and thankful to God for everything.
Update:
There is a small video on this site called: "Learn About ACP." If you want to see my baby's school, he is the one talking to the Muslim professor with a scarf on her head, the big tall dark chocolate dude, he was chosen to represent his school in this short documentary. I am really proud of him, he has always made every Nigerian proud in his school, from coming top of his class in 2008, to maintaining a 3.999 GPA average this year in 2009.I can't believe his entering his last year. Shout out to you baby wherever you are, You can check out this video if interested in learning about his school or learning about pharmacy:(http://www.acpharm.org/).

Romance 101 (Part 1)....part 2 will out during thanksgiving week.

Good morning bloggers, hope you are all doing great? First of all, am thankful to all my lovely friends from blogville who take the time to check out my YouTube videos. I appreciate the love from everyone. If you ever find yourself bored at home with nothing to do, just take sometime to watch my videos, I might not be the best YouTube guru out there, my camera might be noisy always, but I know you will have a small smile after watching. Thank you once again my sweet friends.
So your girl has been thinking lately about this topic, "Romance 101 part 1" knowing my anniversary happens to be next week with my baby. I have been with the man of my dreams now for 3 years. Love is like a roller coaster ride, somedays everything feels like paradise, sometimes you find yourself wondering, what in the world am I doing with this nutty man? So in blogging about Romance 101 part 1, I really don't want anyone to pass judgement or feel obligated to challenge their love life, I want us to all learn from this and better our lives for good. So grab yourself a cup of warm coffee and enjoy reading. Cheers!
What is Romance? A lot of people often refer to romance as the love between a boy and a girl. Others think of roses, kisses, making love, the juicy details involved when a man wants a woman. There is no perfect definition for defining romance,I might define it as falling in love, you might see it as being in love, others might call it worst nightmare for anyone. Well, why are we talking about romance? You might ask me.
3 weeks ago, I happened to run into a Naija sister with complains about a guy she was dating. The dude happen to be African, he wanted to befriend this sister but he wasn't ready to woo her into anything. All he wanted was a relationship right away.I really don't know what he was thinking, but a lot of guys fail to realize that we women love to be swept off our feets prior to being in a relationship. We all want to experience the perfect butterfly feelings, a nice dinner, get roses and teddies, everything cutie that women love. But gone are those days, guys today just want "Yes/No" answers before they waste their money on any woman. Will I say the economy is affecting the mentality of today's man or perhaps times have changed, we have to pass judgements right away before wasting resources on any woman. What do you think?
Whatever happened to the prince charming of yesterday? Today's men now curse women openly. A sister was telling me that she refused to date a Naija man, next thing the guy told her " She lacked proper etiquette, she was loud and not cute" ...are you for real? So are you saying today's men now flip the coin both ways, you refuse a date with me, this is what you get. The sister was depressed for weeks knowing she was asking question, do I really lack proper etiquette? She went on a holy war with herself to change her ways and have ladylike manners, she told me that when next she meets a man, if he wasn't her type and rejected her. She was ready to blast him immediately with WORDS, that was her definition of holy war. Is this what the new romance is turning into where we play games with each other? I pity the next guy who happens to step on her toes, he had better be prepared for what he gets.
Another frequent complain from lots of women and men is that there are few good ones out there? A lot of people fail to realize that LOVE will only find you when it's the right time. Sometimes there might be a purpose why things are not happening so soon. Maybe it's not yet time for you to be in a relationship, maybe you are not yet mature enough to handle Mr Right. Prince charming might be knocking on the door for some ladies, but due to their judgemental minds about romance and love, they immediately turn him down saying, " He doesn't fit my list of Mr Perfect." These women tend to forget that there is no perfect man, even they themselves have flaws and ain't Miss Perfect. How do we solve this mess?
The new complain from lots of people today regarding romance is that it's just a myth. Today's romance for some people is all about smile, eat out and make love immediately. Some people refuse dating, they immediately want "SEX" on the first date. Whatever happened to patience in dating, I get to know you for 6-7 months, and we move on from there? A lot of guys and women are rushing their lives and following the system, people want everything to happen now now. It's either she is for me, I taste the juicy fruit or move on from there. The media plays a big role in influencing today's men and women knowing, movies and TV programmes all view romance between a man and a woman as dating in 3 days and making "LOVE" quickly. Are we missing the gap? Is this the new definition of ROMANCE?
Another popular complain from many men and women today is that: If am so romantic to a woman, she would think am fake and want to get some sugar. Most men complain that they are ready to be romantic to any woman they meet, but recently a lot of women have been giving them the "Mean" eye regarding romance. Miss too independent and strong for love, most women also need to soften up and enjoy when being wooed by a man. Some women have already programmed their minds into believing that ROMANCE doesn't exist anymore, therefore when Mr right comes to woo them, they simply reject everything. He sends you a dozen roses, you send it back. He wants to take you to a nice movie, you instantly say NO. What about a nice walk by the London Bridge, the two of us? You immediately question his motives, does this dude think I walk, I drive. Some women have this strong block in their minds, until that block is moved away, they may never experience the joy of falling in love and experiencing the real romance for themselves.
One thing I notice that have changed the way people view romance is "CAREER CHOICES." Today men and women now use career as a #1 criteria before anything can be done, if the man is a doctor and the woman is a lawyer, some guys immediately say, this is the one without even getting to know her. They want somebody that measures up to their potential, we both have to have doctorate degrees or no romance 101. The type of woman they can brag about to their peers, whatever happened to accepting a woman as she is? Even women today are no saints, some women only want men that are politicians, doctors, lawyers, this and that NAME. Spare me the names, if God or whatever religion you practice has destined for your Mr right to be a Teacher.(I am not saying teachers are bad)... Accept it and move on, you can't limit yourself to love by waiting for MR PRESIDENT.
Anyways, I rest my case this morning. Romance is truly complicated, there is no right or wrong answer. The concluding "part 2" will be out next week with a solution for the everyday man and woman. I will also include a short romantic video of my LOVE LIFE for anyone interested, with a story. Stay tuned for Part 2, it would be out during thanksgiving week. Have a good day everyone.

Any Cure for Rumbling Tummy? I am really curious if there is a cure.

Morning peeps, how are you? I hope your weekend was great. Mine was quiet but good. I loved it. Anyways, I have a lot of new gist for the week. You ready to read, about to type.lol
So this past Sunday, your girl didn't have breakfast before going to church knowing I was in a hurry. I got to the church and am sitting next to the cutest guy ever. I really don't need a man knowing I have one, but my tummy was the one drawing the attention. During the sermon, my tummy kept rumbling, making crazy noises. I was feeling so embarrassed. So this morning, I have a question. Is there anything that can be done to relieve rumbling tummy? A lot of people say if you eat foods rich in fibre and wheat, it helps. Also, if you eat in the morning before going out it helps. Mine happens when I don't eat, was so shy at the end of the service.
Does anyone have a story to share of their rumbling tummy? I know we all have experienced one at school, work or church. What did you do to cure it? Even better, is there any cure for rumbling tummy? I know our stomach is often called a musical instrument and somedays, it's all singing and other days, nothing de happen.
You all have a blessed morning, I will be back to check up on all your blogs, off to eat breakfast and start my day.

Judging love in today's society and some lovely weddingsites to check out...enjoy reading.

So the other day peeps, I got talking with a dear friend of mine on the phone about judging relationships. We spoke about why people fall in love with the people they choose to? I mean it's funny that love has no rules. Anyone can find themselves falling in love with the right or wrong person. An old man falling for a young beauty or a good girl falling in love with a bad guy. You know I believe nobody has the right to judge the relationships of others but quite often, I observed that many people judge people by the outward appearance of their relationship. What is she doing with such a poor man? Even worse, how can a sexy guy like that fall for such a fat woman? I have heard people judge couples a lot with nasty words like, he's poor, she's fat, he's bald, they don't look cute together, why in the world did he marry such thing? Their kids are going to look very ugly. I don't care if a lady or man is old, young, rich, poor, ugly or beautiful, it doesn't matter. Opposites tend to attract and we find ourselves falling in love. A lot of people have hindered themselves from falling in love by placing rules, he has to be this tall, have money this big, owe 3 cars, be this educated, be a pastor or no marriage. I mean, people fail to realize that their Mr right might be that sweet quiet dude in their office that rides the bus with them every morning. In concluding our phone conversation, we both realized that there is no right or wrong answer as to why people choose who they fall in love with. It is beyond the human power to control who we meet and how it happens. Forces unexplainable to the human eye makes one to fall in love with another being and the next thing you know is that, you are suddenly swept off your feet by the man you assume to be your "Mr Right and Perfect Prince Charming."
Lovely weddingsites to check out when free tomorrow:

Updates from YNC. ( Guess what! I am now on YouTube).lol
Hello everyone, hope your Tuesday was great. So I promised to bring everyone some fun updates, yes am here with updates for my friends. Enjoy reading.
So I just picked out a bridesmaid's dress for my cousin wedding, hope everyone loves my dress. The color she choose for her 2010 wedding is sangria almost "purple." We were told to choose our own dresses by the bride, I decided to go for something very modern yet stylish. I hope to wear this dress again after her wedding, maybe for a romantic date with my baby or an evening out with my girlfriends. From observation, a lot of bridesmaids dresses end up sitting in the closet, the blue dress I used for my aunt's wedding never got used again knowing the style wasn't contemporary. I just didn't know what to do with the dress. Sucks right.
New blog to check out:
Atinawaya Blog's ...So while surfing the web, I found this nice blog via YouTube, I think her blog is creative and sort of tells a fun story. Check it out sometime when free.
Where is Kemberly since October 5th,2009?
Kemberly
So been wondering where Kemberly is and hoping she's alright? I also miss my 88 palette which was suppose to be my gift for winning the contest on her blog. She's seriously missing in action since October 5th, and she promised us something big via blogger, where art thou Kemberly? Your fans are worried about you, please update us sooner. Don't be a stranger, we miss you.
Guess What!
YNC is on YouTube, can you imagine? I finally have my own channel on YouTube, am already making live videos for real. So if anyone is interested in hearing from me live, tune in sometime, don't forget to subscribe to my new channel. I am hoping to incorporate a lot "relationships, beauty, health, career, product reviews, everything " into my new channel as we grow from 19 subscribers to 50,000 subscribers someday. I noticed that there are very few Africans making videos via YouTube, this would be a great opportunity for any African chick ready to start a new channel and offer something different, let us take YouTube to the next level people. Anyone interested? I just got started.
Check me out via my channel:( Ignore some funny things I do via my youtube channel, I want to make it fun in the long run)...It's YNC LIVE.

YNC is Back! ( Healed from the flu and even more thankful for my new health).
Hey bloggers, hope everyone is doing great. Been a while since I blogged, girl was sick, I mean seriously ill. I was laying in bed for the past 5 days like a living skeleton, no strength to talk, laugh or do the things I enjoy doing like blogging and cooking, not funny being sick. I was so sick with the flu, my energy was gone, my muscles were aching like crazy,...lost some weight and had some fever blister round my mouth. It was crazy, I can't even recall the last time I fell sick like this, I think it was in boarding school back in Nigeria, when I had measles and chicken-pox together....horrible time back in the day. I thank God for my recovery phase went really well, I feel like myself again, been eating lots of vegetables and fruit, also getting enough rest indoors and avoiding places with large crowds. I just thank God I recovered well in his hands. I appreciate everyone that left me a kind comment via email and blogger. I thank you all for your sweet words. I appreciate my sweet baby, he really was there for me throughout my sick phase, am very thankful for my kind sisters, they really helped me out too. If you have the opportunity to get the flu shot, do so sooner. When the flu strikes, it sucks. I tell you, after being sick for days, when you do a short thankful post for good health, you can even appreciate it better. I am thankful for my new health. So what's been happening since I've been gone, waiting for new gist from everyone. I have some gist for you all sooner. I will be back with updates ok. Enjoy this new video am loving at the moment. Cheers everyone!

I have a small cough and it sucks.
More health updates:
Been told I have the flu, sucks right. I am taking medication and getting all the rest I can. My muscles hurt real bad inside out, having a headache that comes and goes, temperature fluctuating. So I have been sleeping all day long, can't do nothing. My sister just bought me Chinese rice which I ate a little. My baby called to speak to me about my flu symptoms, he's my doctor of pharmacy you know. He explained the reason why my body was acting the way it did. Anyways, am spoilt baby at the moment and getting lots of rest. It sucks to be sick knowing you start to appreciate your health even better. I want to be active again and do all the fun things I love doing. God is in control, hopefully I feel better sooner.
Health Updates:
Thanks for your concern everyone, much appreciated. I have a small fever at the moment, the cough is getting better just my body temperature is fluctuating. I couldn't wake up this morning to take a shower knowing I had pain all over my body, am thankful to God for my sweet sisters, they have been helping out with chores. Sadly my baby is not in town but he has been helping with the prescription for me and being on the phone with me.I am so weak right now, drowsy from taking cough syrup every 6-8 hours, a little sleep will do the trick right now. Miss everyone.
Hello everyone, hope you are having a good day. I am feeling a little unlike myself today. I have a cough and I hate it so bad. Your life, attitudes can shape your mental well-being in everything....Change is infact eminent in this journey called life.

I was sleeping when this post came to my head. Why do we choose to leave our lives the wrong way, is it that we lack knowledge to know our right from wrong. Just yesterday, my uncle in Nigeria wanted me run some errands in school for him. He sent me with some letters to my college campus, there is this angry lady that sits at the register office, she loves frowning her face at all times since I was in college and graduated from there, she never treat people right. So your girl was there asking to collect my uncle's transcript, the lady looked at me and said my uncle's letter was written wrongly, the english wasn't properly put together. Let's not forget my uncle sent this letter from Nigeria, he didn't finish college due to life circumstances and I wasn't allowed to make changes to his letter knowing it had his signature on it. So this is like the second time am going to the office of register on behalf of my uncle, the first time it was rejected when I went there, second time around I went there, the lady was abusing my uncle's english saying bla bla bla.
Now, am busy filling out forms for his transcript and I overhear her mocking my uncle's writing. I say nothing and just do my thing.
I walk over to the register after filling forms and she rejects his letters again, sending me over to another office. On getting to the other office, the lady and her staff accepts the letter and says it was perfectly written, just a few errors my uncle made....they were wondering why the other lady was acting so irrational over a letter written from Nigeria.
Anyways, to cut a long story short. After they accepted my uncle's letter, something came over me and I don't know why.
I walked back to the irrational lady's office and said to her:
"Since I have been in this school and graduated from here, you always so angry and difficult to people, perhaps you hate your job and deserve something better or maybe change is in fact eminent in your life"....you cannot continue to be treating people this way...leaving life like this
She looked back at me in shock:
I walked away and screamed out loudly opening the college door.....CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE OR FIND A BETTER JOB
I'm sure everyone thought a pretty girl gone mad in minutes. I didn't care knowing my words could save that lady in the long run. lol
So am sleeping away dreaming of so much this Saturday morning, my spirit keeps telling me to blog about this journey of life, changes and why we choose to be difficult to ourselves and life in general. Everyone in this simple life of ours is running their own journey of life. Some people due to certain life events have chosen to frown for the rest of their life, but I believe God is saying you can make changes. You don't have to continue hating or being difficult to others because you hate your job or can't stand something. You have only one life to live, are you going to spend the rest of your life or youth in anger. You got to make changes for a better you, you can't treat people bad and expect to go to heaven someday. You can't keep hating people from other races or country and expect God's gift to fill your life. Our God loves us to keep forgiving and being kind towards one another... Take a look right now at yourself, look at your life. Imagine yourself in the next 60 years, are you going to have a smile on your face or frown just thinking about this topic. If something or a job situation is getting on your nerves, I know times are hard and everyone has their own private problems, make a change for you, I believe you can still find something better or better come to work with a smile on your face. Leave your personal problems at home, don't let people perceive you in a nasty way due to your attitude. You can't continue to tolerate something that is causing you depression. Life doesn't work that way and it's not worth it to spend the rest of your career in depression. Gosh!
We live in a real world where 90% of people have chosen to be difficult on others, things that can be solved in seconds to make life easier for others. People would take a life time to fix it to make life hard for others. What nonsense? How can we continue to treat people like this and think we going to have a smile on our faces? That's why you look depressed. Whether at work or anything, you have to learn to make changes, let the simple things of life have its way. Don't take everything too serious because a second look at the mirror of your life showed me an angry woman who is depressed and in fact needs a second chance at life.
Quote from YNC:
The YNC of yesterday is gone, the new YNC believes that our behaviors in life do shape our attitudes and is needed for a better well-being. Sometimes it might be difficult to make changes but "Yes You Can" for a better you.I would be checking on your blogs later today...Stay blessed everyone.

3 Days to November ( YNC Breast Cancer Awareness Creative Pictures). Spread the word to everyone.

Yes it is three days to November and two days to Halloween, no kidding. So this post is going to be dedicated to anyone out there suffering from breast cancer in the hospital, I just want to let you know that you are in my prayers. God is with you at this very moment and there is a purpose for everything. Never give up, he truly is working a miracle in you. I know sometimes you might feel like no-one cares, down and depressed. Don't let that thinking get in the way of your healing, leave everything to God, he will have his way in your health. If you happen to know anyone or family member who has had breast cancer, feel free to share your story and educate us on this post. I haven't really personally known anyone who died of breast cancer, but it pays to educate oneself of this dreadful tumor which happens to kill millions of women worldwide. Breast cancer is real, it kills, it can be cured if detected early. I want everyone of you to spread the word to each other via your blogs, do something creative in your community, wear pink, donate a dollar or more to breast cancer research. Let us all help in our own creative ways to make the world a better place. Don't forget to check with your doctor for regular breast exams. Anyone can be a victim of breast cancer, it is never too late to educate oneself. Peace out!

Inspirational Post for Monday. (Faith Without Works is Dead).

Hello everyone, hope your weekend was fabulous because mine was great. I had a fun church service and I got a small secret to share with you all sometime in the middle of November and no am not pregnant, if that's what you all thinking, think again. Ok, to those of you that asked me what I have been doing since graduating, well quite a lot. I tell you all. I have occupied my spirit, soul and body and am just shaped my life into becoming a more better YNC. I graduated in July 2009, took a big break for the rest of the year from anything called school knowing my life in college was very strenuous. I took full credits each semester doing hard college work in Business and Human Resources, and dealing with stress from my various professors and school administration. The break was well needed to be better prepared for the next phase of life knowing that it is not everything you learn while in college. Hopefully by 2010, I should be working a real job or back in school for my masters degree programme in finance or something entirely different. We shall see what happens then by God's grace, so this is what I normally do to keep myself busy.
On a regular weekday:
I wake up at 9:30 a.m. every mornings, take a hot shower scented with the best shower gel, clean the entire house, have a good breakfast while watching CNN or The View/Wendy's Williams Show.
So this occupies my day:
Blogging/browsing more often and responding to everyone online. My baby hates it knowing am obsessed with blogs and the Internet.
Cooking new recipes and eating well balanced healthy meals
I exercise a lot by walking and I haven't gained no weight since being home knowing my parents are on the small side, I got my mum's genes.
Read a million books on finances, health, beauty, careers in my field, cooking, wines from around the world. Yes, I read everything including beauty and wedding magazines.
Shopping every now and then/exploring new stores in my area
Watching TV, knowing the new current shows and staying current with fashion/Style networks.
Spending more time with my friends/family and calling my baby every now and then, he loves it so much knowing I make him feel special. Sometimes I call to tell him everything I just read, and he would be smiling.lol
Playing beauty school with myself and learning more about looking sexy everytime
Going to church/reading my bible more often, knowing before I never went to church due to my school schedule
Project, working on many projects for my future career and my secret new obsession, would let you all know sometime in November
Organizing everything both home, online and myself
Working a small job every now and then, but hopefully I get a real job next year
Preparing my resume every now and then, learning all there is know about cover letter, the art of business writing, networking while working, setting foot in door, be a more polished individual.
Setting new goals for myself every week and month on how to become a better YNC.
Making new friends every now and then, I made a new friend this Sunday in church.
Praying for myself and those who need God's divine intervention
I happened to be reading this book this morning called "The Latino Journey to Financial Greatness by Louis Baraja" and no am not becoming a Latino. I love reading all kinds of business/financial books from all work of life knowing it helps to mold me into a better YNC.
So I loved this particular story and decided to share with my friends: Enjoy reading.
In chapter 7,Louis describes to us the story of a particular young man facing a catastrophic situation.
There was a man called Juan who lived in a house right next to a river, it was raining steadily for about a week and Juan noticed that the river was rising and starting to flood his backyard. Later in the afternoon, a local sheriff arrived in a patrol car and warned Juan to better get out of his home, that there was serious warnings from upstream of a big flood on its way. Juan replied, no thank you. I have faith in God, I will pray to him to protect me. The sheriff ignored Juan and left. The rain kept falling and the river kept rising until it covered the foundation of Juan's house. Pedro his neighbor was in a small boat and begging Juan to leave the house knowing his house was soon going to be swept away. Come with me and you'll be safe, Juan refused again saying that God will rescue me. His friend begged him but he still refused. In the end, Pedro left Juan and went his way..
At night, an emergency services helicopter was flying along the course of the river looking for stranded or drowning people, as their searchlight swept over the roof of Juan's house, they could see him clinging to the chimney, water was lapping at his feet, in no more than an hour, his entire house would be covered. Quickly the men in the helicopter lowered a rope and begged Juan to grab hold and be pulled into the helicopter, no Juan cried, I have faith in God, he will rescue me. The helicopter got an emergency call from someone who was drowning a short distance away, when they flew back over Juan's house an hour later, the water had risen past the level of the chimney and Juan was drowned.
In heaven, Juan got to the pearly gates and looked straight up to God. I prayed ceaselessly for you to save me, I had faith in you, why didn't you save me.
God replied:
"My son, "I sent you a car, a boat, and an helicopter, but you didn't take any of them. What more do you want?"
Therefore the insightful meaning from this short story is that, in every situation you find yourself, sometimes God is sending you a solution but you still ignoring his help. A lot of times, many ignorant people refuse to do things in their life leaving it all for God to solve, when God is saying, start taking actions right now with what you've got, am sending you help and you still complain. So my friends, stop complaining, be responsible, make a change in your life for better with what you got. Don't forget to put it all in prayers while still taking actions knowing faith without works is dead.

Your Handbag and You. (Everything you wanted to know about your handbag.)

Show me your friend and I would tell who you are remains a popular saying in today's world. So also, show me your handbag and I would help define your status in society. We have all heard it before, a woman's handbag can help define her in ways she can never imagine. I know a lot of ladies tend to pay more attention to their makeup, clothes and heels and less to their handbags knowing it's just a freaking bag meant to carry everything. Whether you prefer buying the real or fake designer bags, big or large tote bags, tiny or baby clutch, a lot can be said about your personality and behavior from the way you walk while carrying your handbag. Even if you hate carrying a handbag and prefer carrying a suitcase to work, you would find yourself often mistaken for a lawyer or professional business woman by some stranger.
In different parts of the world, people tend to carry their handbags similar to that of the more western societies. A closer look at this picture gotten from Bella Naija show that ladies in Nigeria tend to carry their handbags similar to Hollywood celebrities in Beverly Hills.
( A little analysis defining each woman)
Lady A- She seems somewhat married, her red handbag held in her hand, even if you fail to greet her at any event, you can't help but recognize that she holds her red bag with such dignity and portrays it in her walk.
Lady B -she might not be carrying the real designer bag, but the way she carries her bag in her arms, you can't help but give her an A+. She knows when and how to rock her handbag, she might be located in Naija but hey, girl can carry it similar to Beyonce and Ashanti.
Lady C -She seems in a hurry to get a seat at this event, her clutch held closely, a very stern look, looks like she got a lot ahead of her, perhaps a busy job or kids at home to tend to, even worse running late to the event.
Some ladies love their handbags bigger, others prefer it smaller. Whichever one you love carrying to work, church or any events. Try to ensure that it matches your personality and outfit. If you are more of the quiet lady, stick with bags that don't make you look loud, if you are more of the attention seeking ladies, go for bigger expensive yet stylish bags. If you are more of the busy type lady, stick with a bigger classy tote bags to put everything inside when running errands. If you are more of the party freak, invest in more sexy yet sophisticated clutches for a night out with the girls. If you are more of the everyday student, a laptop bag, carried with a small handbag is ideal for you knowing books and pencil cases fit more in your laptop bag, while makeup and other little things tend to go in your small handbag.
So do you have a signature handbag which you love to carry everywhere, your friends can recognize you by your purse at any event. Your hubby and family can tell you are home whenever they see your purse. I feel every lady in society needs to invest in some kind of signature handbag, one that she can proudly incorporate into her everyday style.
If you may ask me, why do ladies prefer carrying their handbags over their shoulder, one might be because she has a lot of stuff in it and wants to prevent hurting her back. Another reason might be for fear of having it snatched on the metro or road by some stranger. A lot of ladies feel some kind of protection when carrying their bags over their shoulder. Some carry on their hand knowing, they ain't used to carrying their handbags over their shoulder. Even more, those who carry their bags in their arms for the purpose of being labelled "Miss Classy by Society." Many of these ladies derive their taste from what is being shown by the media and various fashion magazines/blogs, also the way society tend to portray celebrities carrying their different handbags leaves a lot of women having no choices but to try and imitate them.
In conclusion, do you prefer carrying a smaller or a larger handbag? In coming up with your answer, think about work tomorrow or any event you have planned, what favorite handbag are you going to be carrying tomorrow? How are you going to carry it, perhaps in your arms after this post or over your shoulders if living in a busy metropolitan area? I leave you all with the (20+ 2) must have items in every woman's handbag and yet another reason to believe that bigger handbags serve the everyday woman better.lol

The 12 most annoying types of Facebookers ( I saw this online and had to share on my blog)..enjoy reading.
By Brandon Griggs, CNN
Facebook, for better or worse, is like being at a big party with all your friends, family, acquaintances and co-workers.Facebook can be a great tool, and an occasional annoyance. What kind of Facebooker are you?
Sure, Facebook can be a great tool for keeping up with folks who are important to you. Take the status update, the 160-character message that users post in response to the question, "What's on your mind?" An artful, witty or newsy status update is a pleasure -- a real-time, tiny window into a friend's life.
Combine dull status updates with shameless self-promoters, "friend-padders" and that friend of a friend who sends you quizzes every day, and Facebook becomes a daily reminder of why some people can get on your nerves.
Here are 12 of the most annoying types of Facebook users:
(1) The Let-Me-Tell-You-Every-Detail-of-My-Day Bore
"I'm waking up." "I had Wheaties for breakfast." "I'm bored at work." "I'm stuck in traffic." You're kidding! How fascinating! No moment is too mundane for some people to broadcast unsolicited to the world. Just because you have 432 Facebook friends doesn't mean we all want to know when you're waiting for the bus.
(2) The Self-Promoter
OK, so we've probably all posted at least once about some achievement. And sure, maybe your friends really do want to read the fascinating article you wrote about beet farming. But when almost EVERY update is a link to your blog, your poetry reading, your 10k results or your art show, you sound like a bragger or a self-centered careerist.
(3) The Friend-Padder
The average Facebook user has 120 friends on the site. Schmoozers and social butterflies -- you know, the ones who make lifelong pals on the subway -- might reasonably have 300 or 400. But 1,000 "friends?" Unless you're George Clooney or just won the lottery, no one has that many. That's just showing off.
(4) The Town Crier
"Michael Jackson is dead!!!" You heard it from me first! Me, and the 213,000 other people who all saw it on TMZ. These Matt Drudge wannabes are the reason many of us learn of breaking news not from TV or news sites but from online social networks. In their rush to trumpet the news, these people also spread rumors, half-truths and innuendo. No, Jeff Goldblum did not plunge to his death from a New Zealand cliff.
(5) The TMIer
"Brad is heading to Walgreens to buy something for these pesky hemorrhoids." Boundaries of privacy and decorum don't seem to exist for these too-much-information updaters, who unabashedly offer up details about their sex lives, marital troubles and bodily functions. Thanks for sharing.
(6) The Bad Grammarian
"So sad about Fara Fauset but Im so gladd its friday yippe". Yes, I know the punctuation rules are different in the digital world. And, no, no one likes a spelling-Nazi schoolmarm. But you sound like a moron.
(7) The Sympathy-Baiter
"Barbara is feeling sad today." "Man, am I glad that's over." "Jim could really use some good news about now." Like anglers hunting for fish, these sad sacks cast out their hooks -- baited with vague tales of woe -- in the hopes of landing concerned responses. Genuine bad news is one thing, but these manipulative posts are just pleas for attention.
(8) The Lurker
The Peeping Toms of Facebook, these voyeurs are too cautious, or maybe too lazy, to update their status or write on your wall. But once in a while, you'll be talking to them and they'll mention something you posted, so you know they're on your page, hiding in the shadows. It's just a little creepy.
(9) The Crank
These curmudgeons, like the trolls who spew hate in blog comments, never met something they couldn't complain about. "Carl isn't really that impressed with idiots who don't realize how idiotic they are." [Actual status update.] Keep spreading the love.
(10) The Paparazzo
Ever visit your Facebook page and discover that someone's posted a photo of you from last weekend's party -- a photo you didn't authorize and haven't even seen? You'd really rather not have to explain to your mom why you were leering like a drunken hyena and French-kissing a bottle of Jagermeister.
(11) The Maddening Obscurist
"If not now then when?" "You'll see..." "Grist for the mill." "John is, small world." "Dave thought he was immune, but no. No, he is not." [Actual status updates, all.] Sorry, but you're not being mysterious -- just nonsensical.
advertisement
(12) The Chronic Inviter
"Support my cause. Sign my petition. Play Mafia Wars with me. Which 'Star Trek' character are you? Here are the 'Top 5 cars I have personally owned.' Here are '25 Things About Me.' Here's a drink. What drink are you? We're related! I took the 'What President Are You?' quiz and found out I'm Millard Fillmore! What president are you?"

When life treats you good, don't question but enjoy the moment...(A sweet thank you post to my lovely mother-in-law).

Wow peeps, hope everyone is during great. Mine has been exciting all along. I feel like my weekend just got started knowing my mind has been floating in some dreamy world. Just yesterday afternoon, your girl tasted one of the best egusi soup of a life time. I thought mine was the best prior to tasting my mother-in-law's soup. I think your girl must have died and returned back to planet earth. The taste was so rich, she didn't use palm oil but prepared her soup using extra virgin olive oil knowing palm oil is bad for ones health. You know your girl was visiting yesterday, the smell in her kitchen was driving me to ecstasy, I was busy watching a good Naija movie and just breathing the richness of her cooking. Let's not forget that I offered to help in the kitchen but she didn't want my outfit to get stained knowing I was all dressed up. She was like, don't worry about this. Go spend time with my son, I got this.
My soup was served hot with well cooked pounded yam, my tummy aches just typing this. Name any kind of meat, my soup had it "goat meat, shrimp, stockfish cooked so moist, beef, round-about, everything was in my soup plate."... I couldn't resist licking my plate with my hand. My mother-in-law was laughing and saying, I can't believe you eat like this. You have such a small figure for a pretty lady and yet can consume so much Naija food. In my mind, am blushing and saying "You had better take it as a compliment to you, your food is so good," girl can't resist it.
I must confess my mother-in-law is a great cook, anytime I visit her place. There is always something yummy cooking. Mention anything, well spiced fried rice, jollof rice, rice balls, shepherd pie, salted plantains, chinchin, freshly baked cookies, biscuits, this woman is the best chef in town. She is a well rounded Nigerian with a kind heart towards people, a health professional and yet cooks so good.
This is the sweet confessions of a lucky daughter-in-law, my mother-in-law spoils me like crazy. She accepted me into their family home right from day one when I first met her in 2006.We both happen to come from the same place in Nigeria, I know am very spoilt but sometimes when life throws you good surprises, rather than question her intention, enjoy the moment while it last. I just want to use this short post to thank you for always being my second mother, listening to my nutty stories about hair and movies, being there for me, I truly appreciate you and let's not forget your tasty dishes that leaves me coming back for more. A big shout out to my sweet mother as well, you know I love you anyday, anytime.I know we shall all enjoy planning my dream wedding in 2011. Thank You Both!

Ync Favorites and Updates!!! Enjoy your weekend
...just wanted to start this post by sharing a cute picture of "happy" on my blog, the last time I saw her at my hubby's home, she was a little adopted kitten. Now she is all grownup and loves to watch everyone talk. She belongs to my mother-in-law who thought the house was so lonely knowing all her kids are now adults and busy with their lives. So happy keeps the house lively with her silly yet cutie cat games.lol
Hello everyone, hope your weekend started off great. Mine is a little busy knowing my hubby is in town. The weather is very dull at my end, it has been raining all day long, very chilly and makes one feel sleepy. I spent my Thursday with my hubby's family, just a lot going on lately knowing he returns back to school on Sunday. I must use this post to give a small shout out to my lovely mother-in-law, she is one of the best things to ever happen to me. She is so caring and sweet, I thank God for her everyday. She treats me like her own daughter, for real, yesterday night we were just gisting about everything, including her son. It's a blessing to have a mother-in-law that loves you. I thank God. I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend because mine just got exciting. I am trying to unleash my mind and just have fun with my baby, we had a small talk about his groomzilla moments, the good news is that he has fallen in love with wedding planning and can't wait to marry his wife someday in her white wedding gown. The bad news is that planning just got more complicated.lol I am in a hurry as I put together this post for the weekend. It's funny that I have a lot of favorites this month, nothing really special, just thankful to God for all his goodness in my life. Keep trusting him, never give up. He will surely see you through. I will be back on Sunday evening to catch up with all your blogs. Remain blessed everyone.
Fun updates from YNC:
We all know that this week was dedicated to looking great, I bought a nice kabuki brush for applying pressed powder on my face from elf, very affordable and worth the buck, also a nice blending brush for eye shadow. I love elf products knowing their prices are pretty reasonable and they sure have some good stuff.

Favorite read at the moment:
The girl's guide to kicking your career into gear by Caitlin Friedman and Kimberly Yorio.
One of the best books for any young lady just beginning her career, if you want to learn how to be passionate about what you do and successful, this is the book for you. Even if you are already in a good career and feel stuck or bored, this is one good book that can help you to evaluate your career and determine where you want to be tomorrow.
Favorite small tube moisturizer for the month:
St Ives "renewing collagen elastin)helps improve skin visibility
St Ives "Vitamin" great for dry skin
We all know that there are lots of good beauty products in the market, I just love St Ives. I have been using their products for years and the result I get from each product is amazing. I keep getting compliments on my skin everyday, thanks to St Ives facial and skin care products.
Favorite nail polish for the month: (O.P.I Aragon tomorrow nail lacquer), I have been looking for something dark green that would get everyone envious, Aragon had what I wanted and sure kept everyone around me green with envy. This nail polish is very scarce, the last time I checked the beauty store, it was the last one at the store. Very nice green color for fall as well as winter. I love it.

Favorite lip glosses/balm at the moment: We all know that the fall and winter is here to stay, it's that time of the year when our lips get easily chapped, dry and appears flaky. To keep lips looking healthy and alive at all times, one must always moisturize lips with a good lip balm prior to applying any favorite gloss of yours. Even better, don't forget to have one with you at all times.(www.nyxcosmetics.com)or (www.cheryculture.com)/(www.newyorkcolor.com)
NYX (deep bronze) gloss
NYX (natural)gloss
NYC Liquid lip shine gloss (Iced tea)from Rite Aid
Bonabelle lip glam (Mocha Frost) (www.bonnebell.com)
Essence of Beauty (Pina Colada)lip balm from CVS
Favorite tv programme during the weekends:
(Desperates housewives is back for good), can be watched online via abc.go.com for anyone who misses it on Sunday evenings. The girls are back with more drama, romance and dirty secrets to spice up the show. One fun show to watch during a boring Sunday evening.

Just because l saw your picture.

Young and innocent, a child was I
1996 this picture was taken with you in it
Days gone so fast that you have grown much older
Years changed you and I further apart
I saw this picture last night
My memories relived the moment again
You didn't look happy in the picture
Where you stressed, happy or going through tough times then?
I never understood the expression on your face
Even till today
I ponder in my heart and question 1996
Where you ever a happy person then and today in 2009?
Just because I saw your picture
I ponder and rethink my childhood again
Moments in life we take for granted
Children we think will never grow up
Grow up and suddenly begin to ask questions
Such was I last night
Pondering and questioning why you looked the way you did in 1996
Just because I saw your picture

Beauty and Today's Woman ( Maintaining a beautiful you everyday).

Hello everyone, hope your weekend was great. Mine was very quiet and nothing exciting is going on at the moment. I am thankful to God for everything he is doing and yet to complete in my life.
So I have been thinking about writing a beauty post for so long, every woman has her own idea of what is beautiful to her. What appeals to me might not appeal to you, what suggestions I give on looking youthful might sound foreign to another woman, we all have our own ideas of beauty and how to keep looking radiant everyday. I hope we all find this post insightful and also learn from one another. It took me some time to get this post together, I had to read some good beauty books and blogs, I did my own research at the library and came up with this list. I hope you enjoy reading.
8+1 Items for Every Woman to look Sexy
1)A signature handbag or purse that makes you stand out
2)Nice heels or flats that you can work comfortable in, a must for every lady
3)Your signature perfume that keeps you smelling romantic everyday. I use "Rare Gold" by Avon at the moment. It smells very soft yet very feminine in every way.
4)Always wear clean, pressed and ironed clothes when you leave the house for work or church, you don't have to look expensive, just be yourself while looking neat and classy
5)Signature lipstick, gloss or lip balm...should be something you use daily that makes you stand out everyday
6)If you have nice eyes, define it with eye liner or pencil, if you have nice lips, do something sexy with it. If it's your butt or boobs that everyone notices, flaunt it, if you have pretty legs, rock it with some fish net leggings and heels. You have only one life to live and one time to be stylish. Let your best features shine everywhere and everyday.
7)Accessories, I couldn't preach it any better, know when to rock dangling earring or heavy accessories. If you are going to a wedding or church, something nice but not too heavy, for a party or nite out with the girls, something crazy or heavy. To school , something small, hip and sexy.
8)A good moisturizer should be kept with you at all times, one in your purse and the other at home for personal use
9)Eye pencil, pressed powder, lip balm and a small mirror should always be in your handbag for emergency purposes
5+2 Must Have Makeup Items for Every Woman
1)A good black mascara
2)A good black or blue eye liner to define your eyes
3)A good concealer to hide flaws and cover baggy skin or defects
4)A radiant bronzer, blusher for bringing out the sexy you
5)Your very own skin foundation, have you ever seen women with white faces or wrong pressed powder, you don't want that to be you
6)Powder or cream eye shadow palette
7)Pressed powder that blends in with your foundation
5+1 Don't for Every Woman
1)Never sleep with your makeup on at night, no-matter how tired you are, take it off
2)Don't assume no one cares how you look even if you are happily single or married, trust me if you are always on point everyday at church, work or school. People would know that you take time to look good for you and respect you even more for that.
3)Never share your makeup with another woman, a lot of women tend to share eye mascaras, liners and lip stick. You don't want to spread germs from yourself to another and vice versa
4)Never use makeup for more than 6 months to 2 years, makeup is something you have to renew regularly, you don't want to be using the same mascara for 6 months. Foundations and eye liners, mascara should be changed more often to create for a younger and updated modern you.
5)Don't believe everything you hear at the makeup or beauty store, sometimes sales beauty consultant don't care about you, they are just out there to reap you of every dime you have, do some research for yourself online before visiting the beauty store, know what you want right before entering any beauty store, be confident when asking beauty consultants your question, don't just take anything given to you, test it and look in the mirror to ensure it looks right. If what you seeing isn't looking good on you, don't take it. It's about time you step up to the game to create for a more youthful and happy you.
6)Expensive doesn't mean good makeup, a lot of women are fooled into thinking that the more expensive makeup are, the better. That's a big lie, I am not saying you shouldn't spend on more expensive brand, what am implying is to try other options besides expensive brand names. From my observation, makeup is anything that makes me look pretty, I don't deceive myself into sticking with a particular brand. I am open to other alternatives.
10+1 Beauty Tips for Every Woman
1)Drink lots of water to create for a younger youthful skin, water helps to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy, it replenishes the skin of lost nutrient thus giving the skin back its elasticity
2)As women tend to age, the skin loses much of its elasticity, women ages 40 and above should buy creams containing lots of collagen and elastin proteins to keep skin moisturized and youthful looking.
3)Every woman should use lotions rich in Shea butter, avoid products that keep skin looking and feeling dry, read the back of labels before using any beauty products, if a friend recommends you trying out some product that keeps her looking radiant, take a positive step of faith and try it out.
4)Eat lots of vegetables and fruits daily to keep for a younger you
5)Take your multivitamins daily to help create for healthy hair growth and radiant skin
6)Update yourself with new products in the market, visit beauty blogs, read magazines, check out your local store, know what is in season, colors to rock on your face to allow for a trendy you
7)Exfoliate your skin twice a week, try using a good skin mask, body scrub, facial scrub, use a product that helps to open up your facial pore and wash away dead cells from your face. You can even go natural by using raw tomatoes rubbed in granulated sugar as a facial scrub. I tried it, it works very well.
8)Tone your skin once a week, it helps keep the skin looking younger
9)Trim, cut and keep your nails polished at all times, even if you don't like getting your nails manicured. You can save some buck by doing it yourself at home
10)Let your skin just breathe every once a while, if at home and not going anywhere, don't use any makeup. Just inhale and exhale, allow your skin to breathe....am breathing again.lol
11)Don't forget to update your wardrobes and stay current with more modern trends.
5+1 Question Every Woman Must Know at Any Events
1)Your favorite cocktail drink or Wine
2)Your favorite beauty store or designer
3)Your favorite magazine, channel or blogs
4)Skin ,makeup products you use and current hair stylist
5)A tiny bit of politics and what the president just did lately, Obama just won the Nobel prize in America.
6)Your favorite fragrance you have on at the moment, just incase someone gives you a compliment, you can easily say, ooo I have on Channel at the moment. You got to know what you like and wear to give an appropriate answer to anyone at anytime of the day.
In conclusion, every woman is beautiful in her own way. Take some time right now to ask yourself a few questions. What do I love most about myself? Is there anything that can be done to bring out the best asset in me? Ask yourself if you are dedicating time to care for yourself, sometimes we get too caught up in life that we forget to look good for ourselves. Have you ever heard a woman say? I need to do this for my skin, my hands are dry, my face is oily.My clothes are not trendy, I need to get my hair braided right next time around. So many wrong reasons why she isn't looking good. Enough with the excuses, I know a new week just got started. When free next weekend, call a good girlfriend of yours and take some time to make some positive changes about yourself. Beauty is skin deep and is something we have to keep renewing regularly. If only, a lot of women knew this.

YNC Weekend African Movie Update (Loving &Living It 1 and 2 ) from bunibuni.com ( I copied from youtube some of my favorite moments in the movie).
I love watching African movies both at home and online, one of my new weekend obsession. I watched "Loving & Living It 1 and 2) from bunibuni.com, very fun and classy movie to watch. The characters were all great, my only problem was in recognizing the names of the various cast. I must rate the movie 5 stars for effort, class and dialogue. The movie flowed sweetly from beginning to end, am beginning to have a thing for Ghanaian movies. Nollywood had better step up its game to perfection knowing my Ghana brothers and sisters are starting to win my heart in some of their romantic and fun movies about life. Enjoy your Sunday peeps.
...I loved the clip when the guys were all chilling at the bar, nice one from my Ghana brothers.
...that's for betrayal..lol, you have to watch the full movie to understand this scene.

Is anyone going to watch "Good hair featuring Chris Rock" coming out tomorrow? I doubt if am going to see the movie, I would wait for it to come out on DVD. I heard the movie is going to be hilarious, am not really a "Chris Rock" fan but I would recommend this movie to every other race including black men knowing a lot of people from other cultures are always very curious to know why black women spend so much money and time on their hair.

You know you are slacking in wedding planning when your man suddenly becomes a groomzilla ....( Groomzilla Rants)!!!

You all know that I am obsessed with weddings, am a wedding freak but I suddenly lost interest in wedding planning knowing my dream wedding is in 2011. Why am I going to plan a wedding now or bore everyone with wedding planning details when the wedding is in 2011. I have a whole lot of time on my hand to plan a wedding. I can even write 20 pages of wedding planning right now and never get bored, my fiance gets bored when we talk of weddings anytime. I know he is busy in Pharm school so I never talk of weddings to him or anything...he he he. Lately my man has become a "groomzilla," for real no kidding. He called me up Sunday and was like, we need to start thinking of our dream wedding. This is the colors we want to use, "yellow, black, brown and white." ...@Lady A, you know my dream colors has to have some green and gold in it incorporated with fuchsia and white. He wants an outdoor wedding surrounded by nature, he wants this and that. He doesn't want some people in the bridal train knowing they doubted our relationship in the beginning. He wants our dream wedding to be very romantic and something he would tear up anytime he stares at the picture in our home.
Now am on the phone in shock like, what!!!Has he seen a ghost knowing he gets bored anytime I bring wedding gist up. Just last night, he wanted me to see some wedding pictures online of his friend's outdoor wedding. He said, our wedding has to be very classy and have this, this and more this.
Now I was seriously getting angry a little bit knowing am the freaking wedding planner, my chief bridesmaid is the assistant and we are waiting for the right time to start planning my wedding. All he needs to do when we are ready to plan is bring the money and help out in little details. We got the whole wedding planning process in our hands, I know my photographers, makeup, everything in my head... my hubby was like, now he is very interested in the wedding planning process for us both. He is the boss, he brings the money and also decides on certain features involved in the wedding. The good news is that he said all this on the phone far away in Pharm school...let me just pretend that I didn't hear some of what he said.lol
I went to bed a little upset last night knowing he hates to talk about wedding... " You know you are slacking in wedding planning process when your man suddenly becomes a GROOMZILLA." So my people, that is my wedding rant for today, below is a couple of the pictures my hubby wanted me to see online of his friend's wedding:

For now as a couple, we both want an outdoor wedding, not sure of the colors yet. We both want a very intimate and romantic wedding. One that would bring tears to our guest eyes for years. We both have decided that our white wedding would in America, our traditional wedding is in Nigeria. Seriously I still never believed that my hubby would be interested in the wedding planning process, maybe he fell in love with the pictures he saw online. Women tend to fall in love easily with everything, for many guys, it takes a serious life changing event, he saw pictures of his friend's wedding and now he's interested in wedding planning process. I am quietly chilling on this case for now knowing at the appointed time, the real boss of wedding planning shall emerge, it's not everything that a woman has to answer her hubby right. I rest my case this lovely Wednesday morning.lol
5 funny thoughts in my head last night:
1) Maybe he's very interested in the wedding planning process but hates to talk about it knowing it's not a guy thing
2) Maybe as 2010 draws nearer , his excitement is beginning to kick in like basketball at the thought of our white wedding
3)Maybe his excitement just had to come out on the phone, he couldn't hide it anymore
4)Maybe he is even planning his dream wedding in Pharm school, now the truth is coming out little by little
5)I have nothing but love for you my hubby....(Together we shall plan our dream wedding).

Tempted to touch ....(YNC Makes African Puff Puff).

Hello everyone, hope your week is going great. Your girl has been busy lately, there is a lot of busy bee happenings in my life which I can't complain about. So just this past weekend, I made some African puff puff for my sisters and decided to share my simple recipe via my blog. African puff puff is one of the simplest things to make at home for family and friends and enjoy early in the morning with hot tea or coffee, all you need is 1,2 and 3 ingredients and you have puff puff. You don't necessary have to add baking powder but I added baking powder to mine to spice up the taste. I have some friends that add cinnamon or nutmeg to their puff puff or even a pinch of vanilla, you can add anything to your puff puff mix to get the best taste but never forget your 1,2, 3 ingredients which are (flour, sugar, yeast).
Ingredients include:
All purpose flour (1 and 1/2 cup)
2 teaspoonful of sugar
I small packet of yeast
1/2 a teaspoonful of baking power (not necessary)
Fresh canola oil for frying
water (1 cup)
Steps 101:
a)Get a clean bowl and add your fresh flour
b)Add the desired amount of sugar to your flour
c)In a small separate bowl, combine your yeast and warm water together till yeast is evenly dissolved
d)Add some baking powder to your flour
e)Stirr evenly flour, water, baking powder and sugar to be very moist
g)Add your yeast water to the flour mix and mix together
f) After mixing thoroughly, leave to sit on the table for 1 hr 30 minutes at most to allow your flour to rise
g)To know when flour has risen and is ready for frying, check for bubbles on the top layer of the flour mix, also flour should have risen a bit due to the effect of the yeast
h)Get a clean frying pan, add your fresh canola oil and allow to heat before adding your mix. One good trick to get your puff puff rounded shape is to dip hand in water and roll your flour into a ball, scoop into frying pan and you will get it looking like rounded puff puff
A small montage I put together for bloggers to see my step to step making process...love you all.

Facebook Reality... ( Real Lives, Real People , Facebook Fights)....Happy Month of October in Advance...Yeah!!!

Hello everyone, hope your day is going great. It feels so cold at my end, the fall is finally here and it's been raining every day.I just want to use this opportunity to wish everyone a happy month of October. You know today is the last day in September, so let's enjoy it while it last. Can you imagine people, we have just November and December left after October? What a scary but interesting feeling to know that we are almost through with 2009, before you know it friends, 2010 is here to stay.
So back to today's gist, I got a call from one of my girlfriends over the week, she was asking me what should she do over some facebook drama? She found out that a girl she used to call a friend recently deleted her name from her friendship list, she finds it very sad knowing this is a dear friend she used to chat with or comment on her pictures via facebook. She was like she did nothing, just wanted to check on her friend via facebook to see what's new in her life, only to find that she couldn't access her girlfriend's page. So she asked me what she should do? I told her to either send an email to her friend or come to the realization that such friendship is over.
My own experience with facebook is quite funny, my hubby is in school and one of his guy friends was getting married. I met the wife sometime at a nice restaurant with my baby and we clicked instantly, she added me on facebook and we became friends. So her bridal shower was in July, I couldn't make it knowing I don't drive and my baby is in school. I sent an email to the wife promising to make it up to her when I start driving or even send her a lovely gift via mail. There was no one around my area I could ask to take me to the bridal shower,so I missed out on the shower. The wedding came and my hubby was in school again, the wedding was located far away and no means of getting there for me, normally when my baby is in town, visiting places or attending events is never a problem, we are always there together at any function or he gives me a ride to hang out with my friends. I asked a couple of my friends if they wanted to come to the wedding with me, they wanted to come but the location was so far away. So what happened next was funny, after the wedding I tried to access her facebook page to comment on wedding pictures and bridal shower, only to find myself locked out of her page. I was surprised knowing she deleted me from her friendship list,I wanted to send another email explaining things to her but my spirit was like, just ignore her behavior, she is one of those people you don't need in your life no-matter your explanation, even if I had gone to the wedding and everything was good, later on in life, if another event comes up and I miss out on it, she could still delete me from her facebook page, it's better to prevent getting hurt now than saving it for later. I moved on peacefully after that experience.
Sometimes when you find yourself suddenly removed from people's life via facebook , it might mean it is time to end such friendship. Very often we force ourselves to remain in people's life but the reactions we get from the offender is quite scary and tells a simple message. (I don't care about you, your excuses, I don't have the patience to be friends with you no matter your situation)...life works in different ways, today you are best friends with someone, tomorrow it feels like you never met, people come and go for different reason, sometimes we hold on too hard to what isn't going to profit us anything in the future, how sad to know that people take little things so serious on facebook. Such is life my friends, it is time to move on.Have a fulfilled day tomorrow. Yeah!!!

Random Lace Front Wig Updates!!!
So this evening, I had some free time to waste . I visited the beauty store 15 minutes from my house to compare my hair with theirs on the mannequins. I couldn't believe that the hair was selling for $599.16 which is equivalent of Naija (78,000) when converted, even if I happened to be rich tomorrow. There is no way am going to pay $600 for hair. The lowest lace front wig in my area was $119.99 and the highest was $600. Even the hair texture wasn't anything sexy compared to the one I bought online, some of it were human hair but the sad reality is that you can't try on the hair in the store. The owners are so protective of the hair, you can only look and buy, the other regular wigs in the store are for people to try but the lace front wigs are preserved for buying only. The beauty store owners had a sign on the hair that said "Do not touch"....lol
...lace front wigs in the store
...$600 hair
...the hair looks like mine but selling for $320
...had a sign on it that said do not touch. What!!!

When Pot Keeps Calling Kettle Black...Wetin Kettle Go Do? ( African Men and African Food Rant).

Hello everyone, you know your girl has been saving her gist for Monday night. My past weekend was great knowing my baby was in town. The whole time we spent together felt like "heaven" but the serious conversation we had at night with his father changed my mood a bit. My father-in-law had a very long conversation with us at night-time. It wasn't the sweet type of gist but the all serious marriage talk. You know how they say African women should be submissive to their husbands, cook all the time, clean and all those stuff. I mean, cooking is a not a big deal for me but I got a little upset when he said that I have to cook "Egusi,Pepper soup, Ogbono,Fried Fish, Jollof Rice" and some more African food the next time I visit. He said "Just to make sure you don't serve me burgers when I visit you and my son,"...my hubby doesn't know how to cook Nigerian food knowing he grew up here and didn't bother to learn, he loves to eat African food and really don't care if I cook it or not. I know am going to cook some Nigerian new and old recipes for him once we start living together after our traditional/white wedding.. I just got nervous of the idea of my father in-law wanting me to cook in front of him. In my mind I just said, which one na you own? I am getting married to your son and not you. His father is a nice guy and I respect him a lot but this cooking conversation just got on my nerves.
Ok the story gets tricky, my hubby has two senior sisters that can't cook a thing, they only cook waffles, eggs and eat out a lot. They can't cook any Naija food or any serious dish and now am getting married to their son,my father-in-law is coming up with his own African story. I don't mind cooking it but I feel like this is the case of {Mr pot calling kettle black} in this case. I know he doesn't mean it with any harm but it felt like that to me. I didn't want to appear rude, I just smiled and said to myself. Don't be surprise if one day you visit me in your son's house and I serve you pizza, this one no be "burger", I will serve you American pizza with large coke to the fullest.lol
I love you all, thanks for all the compliments on the lace Keisha wig. I want to compliment someone too in blog world. So go buy one and let me know whether you like it or not. Cheers!

Updates: To get babyhair in the front of your lace front wig, all you need is black gel in the front. As simple as that, I know am very excited with my hair at the moment like a little girl, a lot of my friends including my baby have been giving me compliments on the hair. I guess the hair is truly worth the trial. My excitement might die down during the week,I know am super excited...lol
Goodmorning bloggers, hope your weekend was fabulous...mine was super exciting,I got lots of gist for everyone. So my friends, guess what! I got my first lace front wig (Keisha) and am very excited. I just had to show you the real pictures of what the hair looks like, I wanted to crop the pictures but you won't be able to see the real beauty except I show you the full view. So this is what it looks like, I got the color 4, you don't have to use glue or tape to fit the hair, all you have to do is cut the lace to your desired hair line, the hair has combs in the front and back and a nice knot to hold hair tightly. I must say the hair is very bouncy, lovely and very easy to brush to any desired style. I love the texture, the feel, the look, you could even pack the hair into a ponytail and still look great. Who said Beyonce hasn't got competition? ..ha ha the secret is out people. I got my hair from blackhairspray.com for $29.99, I believe they are selling it now for $39.99. I ordered it on Tuesday and got it by Saturday, service was fast, everything came neatly ordered with a free gift. I got a lovely tail comb in black with my package. I am really excited to try my first lace front wig, I must say 100% for beauty. I hope we all take time to try something different this October. My first chapati trial and error....(Mine wasn't the best, I need to give it another try).
..My first chapati trial and error, not the best looking one but not bad for a first trial.
Hello everyone, hope your week is going great. Mine is quite exciting, I am trying out new things everyday. One of which is my "chapati" simple recipe gotten from my Kenya girlfriend. Last weekend at my Kenyan friend's party, they had some chapati bread made fresh in the kitchen for us to enjoy with our meal. I was reluctant at first to give it a try thinking the taste might be awlful, after tasting one, your girl got hooked to the taste.lol. I love the rich taste of the chapati when eaten with rice and salad. The ingredients is quite simple to find at your local store, but you have to try making it one or three times to be perfect at it. It looks easy to make at first but if you make one mistake like I did, you find yourself having funky looking chapati.lol
As we all know, chapati or chappatis is a round, flat , unleavened bread common in West Asia, especially India. It is also popular in Eastern Africa especially among the Swahili people in Swahili-speaking countries.
Ingredients:
Two cups of all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour or a mixture of the two)
One teaspoon salt
Warm water
Cooking oil
Steps:
1)Mix salt and flour in a bowl, slowly mix in enough water to make a thick dough
2)Mix in one spoonful of oil or olive oil
3)Knead dough on a cool surface for a few minutes, adding a few spoonful to the dough
4)Cut dough into balls depending on how many chapati you want
5)Fry then in a skillet or frying pan, turning them until each side is golden brown and spotted
6)Serve warm with fresh favorite food or any curried dish.
...I love the way the chapati is rising in this picture gotten from the web.
...My Kenyan girlfriend's chapati, it was so good.
...I had my funky looking chapati with shrimp, rice and salad.

Your Best Life Quote by YNC
The best successful life a person can live everyday is learning to love others, forgiving everyone and growing everyday both physically and spiritually.....That's the best life to live for yourself and the unborn generation to come.....Riches will fade away, beauty will pass, career will end but only a good conscience would follow us for the rest of our lives.....I want to be that person, I don't know about you.

Inspiration for the new week...Letting go of anger and welcoming the spirit of patience...We all need it in our lives to survive the real world.

Hello everyone, hope you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was great, my sister and Kenyan girlfriend celebrated their birthdays. I ate so much food for 2 days in a row, my tummy is so full and I have a small "Chapati" recipe to share in my next post. I have been wanting to blog about this topic for days now, tonite is the perfect opportunity for me to do so. We all need to let go of anger in our lives and welcome the spirit of patience to abide in us everyday. One of my favorite prayer request is for God to remove anger in my life and allow for patience in everything I say or do. Funny enough, in church today...my pastor preached about letting go of anger and allowing God to take control of our lives. I have a feeling this message is very much needed for the week.
Letting go of anger can be one of the most difficult things to get rid of in our lives. Everyone gets angry at some point, if you have never gotten angry in your life, then consider yourself lucky knowing you might have learnt how to control your anger perfectly. I get angry every once a while knowing am humane and I leave in a real world. Everyday people tend to make one angry and act crazy every once a while, it could be your friend's behavior, family , spouses, even your mean boss at work. Having anger is bad for your overall image knowing it tends to lead to the wrong outburst of emotions which could then lead to fights, negative abusive words being said that should never be spoken. One of the first step into letting go of your anger is reconciliation with yourself, you know yourself better than I do. You know what makes you angry, try to ask yourself "Is this situation worth being angry, I mean it is ok to be angry but try not to overreact or act in a negative way" After reconciliation with yourself, then you try to reconcile with the fellow making you angry. In everything being said, it is patience that you need first in-order to prevent oneself from being angry. Not everything is going to come now now, it might take months, years but if you have patience. You can overcome ever obstacle in your life even better overcome ANGER.
You might want that big promotion today but your boss is saying, you need to show me you can reach your goals in a timely manner. Does that guarantee you quitting your job now or yelling at your boss? No!!! What if the moment you quit, he promotes your co-worker because you left it out of anger. I mean think about it. What about our dysfunctional families, the people we smile with everyday at home, the little things they do to make us mad. Your family refusing to do what you request of them and then making scream in return and saying what you never meant.I know I know, been there and it sucked.
10 Reasons to let go of anger and allow for the spirit of patience. Let it go now!!!
1)Anger and excuses go hand in hand, you yell because someone offended you. You are angry because you didn't get what you want. You know yourself better than I do, why not let the spirit of patience take over your excuses and anger. If you have patience and know that everything will be fine in the long run, you will never get angry even if the worst situation slaps you in the face. Think again people.
2)Anger destroy ones self-image, ok you are seen as the best everywhere in what you do, say and react. Then one day, your boss or family member make you very angry and you act super crazy. You lose your self image in a twinkle of an eye. That good image of yours that you built over-time is going to cost you a fortune to rebuild in the long run.
3)Anger causes doubt knowing you always going to question your motives for being angry. Am I not good enough that he didn't take me serious, what if I slap his face? Then he would see that am a serious chick...it causes unnecessary doubt which you don't need in your life. Let it go now right now.
4)Anger causes isolation knowing the moment you are angry and act stupid, you going to run away from everyone. I acted crazy now everyone thinks am "that crazy chick at work or in school" OMG!!! I got to hide from these people that make me mad. The moment you realize that you are isolating yourself from people thinking they are going to make you mad, check again. You have to face your anger in the right way by being patience and learning to walk away from the situation. When things have cooled down, try to talk it over, if they refuse to listen to you or work things out. Then my sister, you have done your best.
5)Anger hinders prayers knowing that if you don't reconcile your emotions with the person making you angry, you can't pray. Your prayer remains on the roof top. You have to reconcile yourself first before talking to the creator in heaven.
6)Anger makes you ugly...have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror when angry.Don't even ask me, the next time someone gets on your nerve, take a small mirror and look again...I know you won't get angry anymore after that. Anger makes you ugly and increase wrinkles.
7)Anger is key to being a murderer, the one time you get so angry, you can do anything. Take a look at stories in the newspaper about people who killed others, they were angry..."O I did it out of anger, if only they had just walked away from the situation," no one is perfect but learning to let go of your anger will save you from committing atrocity in the long run.
8)Anger cuts you from your potential, the moment you have anger and start hating Mr A and Mr B. You are automatically limiting yourself from being nearer to your destiny knowing you have cut off all successful relationship with the same people that might draw you nearer to your promotion.
9)Anger doesn't bring solution, have you ever noticed when angry , you can't solve nothing. You are yelling like a mad woman and the other person is yelling back at you. Nothing is being done to solve it, you both leave frustrated, depressed and get nothing solved....seriously it sucks to be angry
10)No more excuses after reading this post, we are letting go of our anger right now. Let it go today!!! Stay blessed people.

Ync Favorites and Updates!!! Enjoy your weekend.
Hello everyone, hope you are excited because I am. The weekend is here again, time to relax and get busy with your very favorite hobbies. I decided to post updates on my very favorites for August and early September. It feels great to be finally able to update about everything I am loving at the moment. Enjoy reading!!!
Weekend Birthdays for the Month:
My junior sister and one of my favorite girlfriends is celebrating their birthday this weekend. I just want to use this opportunity to wish them a happy happy birthday, long life and prosperity in all they do. I love you both very much. I hope you both enjoy your special day.
Favorite Read for the Month:
Just Because I'm Latin Doesn't Mean I Mambo by Juan Roberto Job. I am not Latin but I picture this in my mind whenver am reading the book..."Just because I'm African doesn't mean I suck?"...one of the best books to use to enhance your career anyday, anytime. I found this book at my local library and it's been one fun read to use to motivate me during the day.
Favorite fall lip/nail product I love now:
As you all notice, the fall is here to stay. A lot of darker lipstick and nail polishes would be in style. So try to update your makeup collection with more darker colors. These can be gotten from your local drug stores or via any favorite online website. You don't have to spend much to look great.I love brand cosmetics but I tend to limit how much I spend on brand names. Watch it peeps!!!
...I have on plum royale on my nails
Petites (Plum Royale)
CQ (Chocolate Plum)
New wet n Wild nail color ( Morbid.Morbide)
Lipstick (Wet n Wild Sugarplum)
Favorite Bodywash for the Month:
St Ives Moisturizing Body Wash (Soy Milk & Lotus Blossom)...made with natural ingredients and help to leave skin feeling soft and well conditioned
St Ives Exfoliating Apricot Body Wash ( Naturally exfoliates to reveal smooth, radiant skin)...contains jojoba beads and apricot, removes dull skin and creates a smooth younger skin
Favorite Unrealistic Show for the Month:
ha ha ha, one of those dumb shows whereby Antonio tries to find true love on a reality TV show. Some of the girls are pretty scary as well, a lot of them lack manners and just act fake. The fun on the show is when Antonio's mother passes judgement on each girl and tries to see if any would make the perfect fit for her son. Let's not forget Antonio ex-wife is also among one of the girls on the show. I smell drama, drama anytime I watch this unrealistic show.
My Antonio...for video clips and pictures from the show. If you missed any episode, you can watch it on Vh1. Just follow the link.
So that's it people, enjoy your weekend. I am off for the weekend. Bye!!!

Confessions of a troubled daughter to her father!!! Inspired by Leggy, Maxine, Goodnaijagirl...I love the way they write of their fathers.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is having a fabulous evening. Can you imagine?lol I got so hyper-excited this morning after winning Kemberly's giveaway that I forgot to post my second post. Anyways, your girl is very thankful for everything going on in her life. My life is not perfect, there are days I feel like crying and days I feel like shouting to the world "I feel good." I am forever thankful to God for love, life, family, health and my beautiful friends in blogville. I really want to appreciate everyone who takes the time to stop and leave comments on my blog. I thank everyone of you, thank you, thank you, thank you for always being there for a sister.
So back to main topic, anyone here have a great father/daughter bond? If you are one of the lucky ones, thank your God everyday. I really can't say mine is perfect. You know the all girlie type of bond where you can sit on your dad's lap no-matter your age, tell him all your secrets, kiss him goodnite and call him everytime you feel sad. I can't even recall having the best childhood memories with my father. I have a loving father, he pays the bills, provides food and shelter, sent me to college but we both haven't developed from childhood that close intimacy for each other. I mean the ability to share good and bad secrets, laugh at all times and be very comfortable when close to each other.
As I look back at my childhood days, I recall my daddy being the strict African type, he loved to scream and yell whenever we did something wrong. He also was known for his quick anger in the area we lived by family and friends, he was the no-nonsense type. My daddy was always working to pay the bills while mummy did all the caring,... At age 13, I recall being taken to the boarding school system for 6 years, the only time I saw dad was on holiday...I even drifter farther away from him. Then I was 19, it was off to the states for college...I became older and even farther apart from him.
At age 25/26...I am a full grown adult and have no close connection with my daddy. I love him, he is always there for me when I need money and some stuff but we can't really communicate about my secrets. I tell my secrets to my hubby and mother. As I communicate on the phone with my hubby everynite, we talk about wanting to have a close bond with our children everyday even if we both have to work full-time someday. We want them to be very close to both mummy and daddy and never feel like one person is doing all the work. We would definitely discipline them right but yelling and screaming won't be our plan.We want our children to look back at their childhood and adolescent years and tell a cute story of a perfect father/mother relationship bonding moment.
N:B {Don't cry as you read this part)...very sensitive
The other day me and my father got into an argument, it was one of those immature ones over my marriage plans, I was upset at him for not responding to certain things regarding my wedding the way I wanted him to. He was angry and started yelling like he did during childhood. I confessed my hidden fears to him about how we don't have the perfect father/daughter relationship. I unleashed my mind about every fears from my childhood days until now with my father, my mind was at peace with what I did but the effect on my father was drastic.
NB (He got sick for days and shut off his phone from everyone including me...I was very scared for days knowing his health was at stake, I asked God if I said the wrong things to forgive me}
I called my daddy and tried to talk things over with him, he realized that during our childhood days and growing up years, his mind was focused on paying the bills and taking care of tuition, food and shelter. He also regretted some decisions made in the past and told me he didn't hate me for any reason, he loved me and it's just that he didn't know life would turn out the way it did.
I can't say we have the best father/daughter relationship as of today but I am very happy he knows how I feel now. I spilled the milk and my heart is at peace. I know lots of adults get caught up into trying to pay the bills while missing out on the importance of spending time with the kids during their childhood and growing up years. Life is fast passing us everyday, families are born, children are raised, money driven and careers days will pass, kids are grown but the special bond of CONNECTION can never be replaced for life. Only your family is what you have left at the end of your life journey. What would your story be at the end of the day? Think again everyone.
